The Starvations: "Whorelove"

Welcome to MindDouche! This site is about me, Alex Garcia, and yes, Jerry Garcia was my grandfather, too bad I hate his music. I really admire his ties more than his music I must say.....OK, no, I am in no way related to the guitarist of the Grateful Dead, I am however making this site just so I have something to do. It will include updates on my boring life, rantings of all kinds, links to stuff, music and other stuff that involves me. So much for introductions, and now check out my site!

July 27th, 2003: friday: well, i attended church services with my parents, which was cool, i have some good friends there. my friend carlos, the son of the murdered father, opened up alot and talked about how he felt with his father's untimely passing. it was pretty heavy stuff, made me think alot about my dad, and that just turns on the waterworks for me, but...i was in a room full of hispanic, so Los Hombres No Lloran, so i held it in, i had to be a real man. after that, we planned our little water battle strategy against the adolescents of the church who were having a sleep over somewhere, its fun, and who doesn't like to get wet. so after failing to acquire stinkbombs, we settle for water balloons. so we go to a church members house to prepare, and once ready, my friend comes over and brings halloween masks, so i pick the werewolf, another Beavis and another a ski-mask, oh, and also a pair of white pantyhose for another dude, so we referred to him as "The White Rabbit". so beavis, me, ski mask boy and white rabbit lie in the bed of a truck, because, as you know, it's illegal to ride in the back of an open aired truck. so we get to the house, we creep in slowly, until our the driver gives us the signal to release our watery weapons. so we get the signal and we start launching at all the kids coming out of the house. it was madness i tells ya! i got some good hits in there. but then i saw someone in particular that i wanted to nail, so i had one balloon left, so i rear back my throwing to launch it, and as i'm ready to throw, the driver begins to speed off while i'm standing up in the truck! so i was thrown backwards and my legs hit the gate of truck. so me and my little buddies started chanting, "We own the night!", as we disappeared into the night...man, that was alot of fun. i miss being a kid and not having any worries.

saturday i hung out with josh and watched a flick. he burned me a copy of The Mars Volta album, which is very good i have to say. man, thanks to my fave Jew Aaron for telling Josh and i how great the album is, because we heard stuff of The Mars Volta: Tremulant, and josh and i weren't liking that shit, but the album is solid shit all the way through.

today i went to church, yada yada yada, afterwards we all had a picnic at the park nearby. it was alot of fun i have to say, telling stories about my roadtrip with some friends, played a hell of alot of soccer with the young'uns and big'uns alike, and i think i did pretty good at defending. lots of volleyball too, which is oodles of fun. man, my family kicks ass, we all love each other so much and it never feels like a chore when we hang out together, everyone gets along and everyone has a good time. and we actually love spending time together.

i miss stephanie...she's been gone for nearly a month, but luckily she'll be coming back home this thursday. i'm excited about that, i love her. i actually get to say that my sister is fuckin' cool instead of a constant pain in the ass like other siblings. i'm so glad i didn't grow up the only child, having a sibling is like having a friend for the rest of your life, it's beautiful thing indeed. well, i guess that's all, i won't be going to beat it again, on account of me not having any money, but atleast i'll be in my well air-conditioned home. shit though, i seriously wanna dance tonight. oh well.

July 13th, 2003: I went to Mexico yesterday for the cheap doctors visits and prescription medicine. I'm getting increasingly happier with my hair. I feel restored and rejuvenated by it in its mop top form. About a week till The Sounds perform for free at Amoeba, I'm excited...i have to take a picture with Maja, the singer, soooo beautiful. Gotta love the Swedes. Above this you'll find a picture of Barry White, he recently passed away, at too young of an age. He helped alot of men get laid back in the 70s because of his uberly romantic music. Woman were helpless against his deep deep bass voice, men took advantage of this, smart move. Man, this summer has gotta pick up the pace, I need to have more fun. Well, that's all. Stay safe. Updated at 3:07 pm.

I JUST POSTED NEW PICTURES IN THE PHOTO SECTION, THEY WON'T DISAPPOINT!

July 1st, 2003: Wow, heres what I have done since my last update in a nutshell: went to New York City, great times, came home from NYC in three days  to see my awesome Tuesday Boys graduate, and it was so great to be there too, so glad I came in time to see that. And Shants little shindig afterwards was lots of fun too, good mingling going around. Well, Ive forgotten what else has happened, but last night was a fucking blast!! Josh, Shant and I went to Kelleys house for a little get together because her parents were going to be gone til Wednesday. Well, we were the first ones to show up, so we just sat around and talked to one another, and then other people started showing up. We all started noticing a common theme with these people too, "Hmm, patches, pins, studs, spikes, magenta hair, torn stockings, combat boots..Hey Josh, do you think these kids are punk rockers?" So anyway, Shant  and I had some alcohol, then we headed out to 7-11 for some snacks. We came back to find this guy Aaron who is super cool at the party that Ive hung out with a few times prior. So the four of us started talking about music and that was just cool. Aaron got me excited for the Mars Volta cd thats out already. Well, 11:00 oclock rolls around and Josh and Shant decided to make like trees and get outta there. Luckily I wasnt going to be alone for long because good ol Lucas, or as Chelsea affectionately calls him LaLu (its a little nickname I made up for him) was on his way to have himself a good fucking time. Seriously, in the first three minutes that Lucas arrived, he already had the punk girls drooling, saying things to him like, "Hey, I love your cheeks!", "You look like this guy I knew named Chad that I fucked back in grade school, which makes you so hot to me right now!"," Seriously, Lucas, you need to get a Mohawk so I will definitely have sex with you." By the way, I am not making that up at all, true story. Lucas and I had ourselves a ball, is all I can say. Much thanks goes to Ms. Kelley Lutter for the great party she threw. So yeah, so much other stuff happened at the party, but Ill save some of that for the next Del meeting. Updated at 12:35am.

June 13th, 2002: Yes, that's right, another update for you kiddies!Wowie Wow Wow!! I am completely in love with Chicago!! This city is so great and beautiful to me that I pretty much don't wanna leave. Hmmm let's see what I did today with RaRa: well, at first we wanted to go on top of the Sears Tower, but we were informed that there was zero visibility due to the fog, and it costs $9.00 to get up there, so maybe tomorrow. After we decided to go to Union Station to check out the place, and it was really cool inside and I took a few pictures of me on the stairs where that great shoot out sequence in the Untouchables happened between Elliot Ness, the baby carriage and Al Capone's henchmen. Cool stuff. After that we went back to our hotel room to relax for a bit, and then we decided to head out for Wrigley Field, and then go to the Biograph Theatre where John Dillinger was shot to death by the FBI. I got all tingly when I saw the marqui for the Biograph, and then it sunk in, "Man, this was where John Dillinger was shot to death by the Feds, the first man to ever become Public Enemy Number 1, and this is where it all finished for him." I don't know why, but I love criminals and organized crime, even though Dillinger was pretty psychotic. So yeah, that's pretty much what I did today. Great stuff, lots of memories and tomorrow I shall bid adieu to this wonderful city, oh but I will be back!! Miss all of you guys! Updated at 1:45 am.

June 12th, 2003: Well everybody, this roadtrip so far has been quite an experience. Sooooo much driving to be done, with so little sleep. FYI: Nebraska is the most boring state in the union....it's got nothing! Colorado is very beautiful though, and Utah was ok. Had a deep dish pizza with RaRa last night and it was some of the best pizza I've ever had. Oh, by the way we are in Chicago, and it's a very cool city. Lots of stuff to look at and friendly bums come out at night. Ok, gotta go now. Updated at 5:17 pm, Chicago time.

3 New Pix from my El Salvador trip in the Photo Section! And don't forget to sign my guestbook, you whores!!

June 2, 2003: Alright, Thursday, Josh picked me up to go help him on his project for school. So we went all around Hollywood filming random crap, but first we made a short stop at Amoeba Music. Josh promised himself to only buy one cd, so with that said we separated to our respective musical sections, and when he came back, he mustve had five cds in his grip, he has no self-control, but its pretty funny though. He bought the new Queens of the Stone Age and a Los Lobos cd, and I purchased The Sounds album, which kicks ass and now they have become my new favorite band. After a few hours, we make it back to valley to pick up Gotti, and Josh goes insane and starts yelling, Wheres the Beef?! at random people on the street, and their reactions were so damn hilarious, and we started to laugh real hard. Well that was pretty much that day, so Saturday I went to go eat at Fuddruckers in Burbank, and that was one of the greatest burgers that I have eaten in a while, and I later went bowling with a group of friends, and that was a lot of fun. The biggest laugh of that evening was when we were at a stop light, and we turned to our right to see a woman picking her nose! I mean, God, she was up to her wrist! I honestly have never seen a woman pick her nose, and that image will stay with me for the rest of my life. So fastforward a few hours, its close to 2 am, I call Josh to see how prom was, and I really wanted to hang out with you guys, so I decided to sneak out of the house for a few hours. OOOHHH I felt like such a rebel. So it was basically Josh, me, Julia and good ol Howard. Well, we all know what happened with the afterparty, so we decided to go see the Marty McFly house by Joshs pad. We took some pictures and proceeded to drop off Josh. Pretty much the rest of the night was us driving around and talking about all kinds of good stuff, which was cool. Sunday, nothing really, just church and later on to go play basketball where I had a pretty damn good game for myself. Well, I guess thats it for now. I also told my dad that I want to go on the roadtrip, but he hasnt given me an answer yet, so we shall see how that goes. Updated at 1:55 pm.

May 12th, 2003: First off, sorry everybody for the lack of regular updates on this shizznit, also, my memory is a bit weak right now, so I will post little bits that I remember since arriving back in the good ol' US of A. Well, the first Tuesday that I was here, Josh and I met up pre-Del to go to one of our favorite places, Amoeba Music. My mission was to buy the White Stripes 'Elephant' and I did, and I like it alot. Also, I got another disc from a band called Vue, good stuff. Well, Del was good, not great since alot of people were missing. Speaking of Del, the last one sucked a bit because of those unbelievably annoying fuck turds acting like morons. And I got even more pissed when that blonde fucker threw something at me, oh I seriously wanted to beat the shit out of him! I saw The Used on Conan, just to see what they were about, maybe even give them a chance, but they sucked so bad, so incredibly annoying musically and performance wise as well, so yeah, I shut my ears to them forever. Rock is Dead. Well, this weekend was great, and do you no why? I saw Voodoo Glow Skulls with Josh at the Troubadour! Oh man, they were so awesome and I had loads of fun, singing every lyric, getting socked and shoved in the pit, dancing, grooving, getting up front and getting fives from singer Frank, and his brother the bassist, and getting up close and personal with the Mexican Boogieman, El Cooi Cooi. So many cute ska/greaser latinas in attendance, it was hottie overload in there. Look, if you remotely like ska and punk, why the hell aren't you loving Voodoo Glow Skulls yet? Get with it, Jack! Sunday was a very nice day too, the Lakers won, I had some great food, and I got to play some basketball as well and just being with my awesome family. Well, I guess that's it for now. Thanks to you guys for still checking this site, I appreciate it alot. See you guys tomorrow. Updated at 1:38 pm. American time.

April 27th, 2003: Well folks, this is my last day here in the land responsible for pupusas and spawning yours truly, El Salvador. Man, I love this place so much, so much family here, so much love, so much heat and humidity. I'm leaving for the airport at 4 o clock in the morning, so realize that when it's 3 AM back in the states I will be totally awake. I've been saying goodbye too so many people today, and after a while, it kind of bummed me out a bit, but the hopes of seeing them again lifts me up. Well, I'm going back home everybody, and I can't wait to see most of you this tuesday. My stomach has sorely missed some deluxe chilli cheddar fries! Delish! Well, I'm out, thank you El Salvador, you have been good to me once again. Viva La Patria. Updated at 8:40 pm. Salvy time for the last time.

Two New Pictures Posted in Photo Section!!!

April 16th, 2003: OK, I have plenty to write about, so I am going to try and make this as condensed as possible. Alright, so Saturday was the day of my cousin's wedding and I have to admit I was looking pretty good for the event. The ceremony was very nice except for some people that don't know how to turn off their cell phones. The reception was held in the swankiest hotel in El Salvador, which you might think wouldn't be that good seeing as this is a relatively poor country, but this thing was friggin' regal. So many people were in attendance in the ballroom, it was ridiculous how much family I have here. There was a hired band, dancers, drunken buffoons and all kinds of craziness. A good time was had by all. Sunday, my aunt rented an American Schoolbus and we stuffed it with family members so we could go to the beach. It was so odd seeing a schoolbus filled with family. The beach ranch that belonged to my aunt was pretty bitchin, it had a pool with a table built, plenty of hammocks all over and the shore right at my feet. At first, everyone went into the pool to play volleyball, and we split into teams, my team lost because the ref (my nephew) is incompetent. Afterwards, a few of us made our way to the beach...BIG MISTAKE! Mother Nature was a bitch that Sunday, the current was so strong, it actually pulled my body out to see, and I panicked like a little bitch, but I managed to swim back. So yeah, I still thought I could conquer the waves by staying close to shore, but damn, those waves were so strong they knocked me out on my pale ass two times, and took my shorts down those two times and gave me all sorts of scrapes. So that was my Sunday. OK, Monday, my mom, dad and some cousins headed out for the little town where my parents grew up, and it took about 4 hours to get there, in high heat, with the humidity levels off the charts. We were all a sticky mess by the time we arrived in town. So we said our hellos to our family, and had some food, great thing about Salvy families, you will always eat like a king when you are visiting. So later that night, I went across town to my grandparents house (my mom's parents) and it was very nice to see them again. So Tuesday morning, we headed out for another beach, called El Cuco (to the hispanic kids, yes, that is the real name, no vagina jokes please!). This beach was pretty nice, the water was just fine, warm and the current was at minimum force. Bad thing though, so many jellyfish! Three of them swam by me, and I freaked out, but I'm still glad I went into the water. So after that, we drove back to the capital, tired as hell and we called it a night, but not before my cousin and I puffed out some ganja to our amusement. Good times so far here. Lots of partying. I'm sorry that this update was so long, but I want you guys to know what's going on  here, and I've still skipped stuff to write about. OK, that's all folks. Miss you guys! Updated at 3:01 pm. salvy time.

April 12th, 2003: Man, am I hungover like a bastard right now. I am a friggin' miracle, because by all medical evidence, I should have died three times with the amount of alcohol I consumed last night. OK, so here's the lowdown on last night: In the evening, the family went to my rich uncle's house to witness the engagement of my cousin and her dude (yes, that's how we do things here) and it was going pretty well, me making small talk with a few estranged family members and walking around my uncle's kick ass pad. So anyway, my cousin was going to meet up with some of his friends, and I went along. To make a long story short, we got some vodka and we drank it all, but I drank most of it. Shit man, I was plastered out of my gourd last night, I went through all the motions...loud, quiet, emotional, dizzy, desperate and the grand finale, the spewing of what I ate that night, all over my shoes too, man, my chucks are littered with yellow spots now. Man, even as I write this, my head is still on the fritz. Good times though. Take care all. Updated at 2:26 pm. salvy time.

April 10th, 2003: Howdy y'all, well, as all of you must know by now, I am in the motherland, otherwise known as El Salvador, and no, we don't sell panchos here! Haha! Well, last week some cool stuff happened, first off, Monday, I went with Amoeba with Josh and I bought a few cds, the EP from the (international) noise conspiracy, and a billy idol cd, both very cool. The cover song in the T(I)NC, "Baby Doll", is a damn good song, and it's sexy as hell, sexy sexy song. Tuesday was our usual Del Meeting, which was cool as always. Acapulco on Friday was cool shit, except that there were way too many people there, but it was still a good time. Saturday, I went to go feed the poor out on Skidrow, and I nearly caught on fire due to the wind blowing very hard on the charcoal grill. That very Saturday I hung out with RaRa and my sis. We first went to Amoeba Music (if you haven't gone there, where the hell have you been, Jack?), well, I initially bought Elvis Costello: This Years Model, and The Clash's first album (the UK version, being superior to the US version), and to try my luck, I went to Beach Boys section, and they finally had the Beach Boys: Pet Sounds on used! So of course I bought it. I was very pleased with my purchases. Well, afterwards, we went to the Santa Monica Pier and had a carefree blast! Rollercoasters, camera fighting, bumper cars, scaring people, walking barefoot in freezing cold sand, all great stuff with RaRa, love you dude. Fast-forward even more, Tuesday was a fun Del again, and I thouroughly enjoyed my bon voyage with you guys! Well, the plane was kinda freaky because there was lots of turbulence, and I am somewhat of a nervous flyer. My stomach was hurting like a bitch throughout the flight, and that sucked major, but I got through, and now I am here with all my family and it's great, despite the unbelievable heat, and the humidity being so thick I could eat it. Well, tomorrow, I might go the beach, so I hope that goes down. Well, I guess that's all, take care all! Updated at 1:54 pm, Salvy time.
